Up to 10 Year Warranty ★ Ideal for 3.6kW single-phase hybrid inverter installations Solar PV systems needing battery-ready design Retrofit storage projects adding batteries later Wall mounted inverter layouts with separate battery tower Flow systems using app monitoring and RS485 communication ⚡ Works well with Sync Energy Flow battery modules Solar PV arrays up to 550V input RS485 Modbus meter connections Sync Energy app monitoring Single-phase 220/230V AC systems Description Specifications Data Sheets Delivery The Sync Energy Flow SEFHI36 is a 3.6kW single-phase hybrid inverter for solar and battery storage systems. The manufacturer product code is listed as SEFHI36G, while the LAMPS SKU is retained as SEFHI36 for import matching. It is the 3.6kW standalone inverter option in the Flow range and is used where the installer wants to add batteries later, connect compatible Flow battery storage, or build a solar generation system with future storage capability. The inverter supports 150% PV oversizing, with 5.4kW maximum PV input power and two independent MPPT strings. It is app monitored through Sync Energy and supports LCD, LED, RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi and Ethernet communication interfaces. 3.6kW single-phase Sync Energy Flow hybrid inverter Standalone inverter option for Flow systems 5.4kW maximum PV input power, equal to 150% PV oversizing 550V maximum PV voltage Two independent MPPT strings IP65 enclosure protection with integrated Type 2 AC/DC surge protection 10 year warranty or 6000 cycles Where the 3.6kW inverter fits The standalone hybrid inverter suits installers who want the Flow inverter as an individual component rather than a complete all-in-one tower. The installation guide lists the 3.6kW inverter under Option A, where the inverter is wall mounted with the option of a separate floor tower for batteries. This is useful where the wall location, battery position or expansion plan does not match a one-tower all-in-one layout. The Flow range can be configured with hybrid inverter, battery storage and solar PV, with hybrid inverter and battery storage, or with hybrid inverter and solar PV without storage. That gives the 3.6kW inverter three roles: solar and battery control, grid-charged battery storage, or solar generation with the option to add batteries later. The final selection must follow the electrical design and DNO requirements for the property. PV input and MPPT design The SEFHI36 inverter supports a maximum PV input power of 5.4kW, which is 150% of its 3.6kW inverter rating. Maximum PV voltage is 550V, with an MPPT range of 80-500V and full MPPT range of 110-500V. Startup voltage is 100V, and normal voltage is listed as 360V. The inverter has two independent MPPT strings. Maximum input current is 18.5A x 2, and maximum short-circuit current is 26A x 2. That PV specification is important for array sizing because the inverter should be matched to string voltage, current and the installation’s roof layout rather than selected on AC output alone. Battery connection and storage behaviour When used with Flow battery storage, the 3.6kW inverter works with LiFePO4 battery modules at a nominal 51.2V battery voltage. The battery voltage range is 44.8-56.2V. For 3.6kW variants, maximum charge or discharge power is 3.6kW and maximum charge or discharge current is 80A. The Flow system can store energy from solar generation and from the grid. With solar PV and batteries, it can store excess generation for later use and support full grid import and export. With batteries only, it can store off-peak grid energy for use during peak periods. This makes the inverter suitable for retrofit storage as well as new solar and storage installations. Mounting and supplied inverter contents The installation guide lists in-box contents for the hybrid inverter: inverter, wall mounting bracket, two cable entry covers, wall bracket and stack connecting assembly bolts, CT clamp and connector, two AC power connectors, earth bond ring crimp and four PV DC connectors. The guide also states that only the PV connectors supplied with the inverter should be used. For wall mounting, the guide notes that the wall must be suitable to support the 43kg inverter. AC power connectors are suitable for 4-6mm² cable sizes, and PV DC connectors are suitable for 4mm² stranded cable. CT clamp wiring is used for grid monitoring, and RS485 Modbus meter terminals are also identified in the wiring information. Protection, efficiency and communication The inverter specification lists IP65 enclosure protection, Type 2 integrated AC/DC surge protection, PV reverse polarity protection, overcurrent and overvoltage protection, anti-islanding protection, AC short-circuit protection, residual-current detection, ground fault monitoring and insulation resistance detection. Fire suppression is integrated in each battery module when batteries are fitted. CEC efficiency is 97%, maximum efficiency is 97.6%, PV to battery efficiency is 98.1% and battery between AC efficiency is 96.8%. The topology is transformerless, cooling is by intelligent fan, noise emission is below 25dB and standby consumption is below 10W. Communication and display interfaces include LCD, LED, RS485, CAN, Wi-Fi and Ethernet. The inverter is monitored through the Sync Energy app. Choosing SEFHI36 or the 6kW sibling SEFHI36 is the 3.6kW inverter option. The Flow range also includes a 6kW hybrid inverter, listed as SEFHI60G. Both are part of the same Flow family and both can sit within solar, battery or hybrid system configurations. The key buying difference is inverter output and associated PV and charge or discharge capability. Choose the 3.6kW inverter where the property, connection agreement and expected loads suit a 3.6kW single-phase hybrid inverter. Choose the 6kW sibling where the installation design supports the higher output. Battery capacity should be selected separately using the compatible Flow battery module options. Related categories include LAMPS solar inverters, single-phase solar inverters and solar batteries. SEFHI36 inverter questions Is SEFHI36 a battery inverter or solar inverter? SEFHI36 is a hybrid inverter. It can be used with solar PV and Flow battery storage, with battery storage only, or with solar PV and the option to add batteries later.
