Ideal for

  • Single-phase homes requiring compact 7kW charging
  • Buyers wanting a removable Type 2 cable
  • Users preferring app control without an LCD
  • Solar PV and battery-equipped homes
  • Shared private parking requiring RFID access

Works well with

  • Compatible Type 2 Mode 3 charging cables
  • myenergi app and home-energy ecosystem
  • Solar PV and battery systems
  • External CT monitoring or myenergi harvi
  • Installer-designed upstream circuit protection

The myenergi zappi GLO ZAPPI-3AS07UT-G is a screen-free 7kW, 32A single-phase untethered EV charger for a 230V AC, 50Hz supply, with a Type 2 outlet and IP65 enclosure. It suits buyers who want the newer GLO format with app-led control, RFID access and a removable vehicle lead, and it differs from ZAPPI-3AS07T-G by using a Type 2 socket rather than a fixed 6.5m Type 2 cable. It belongs in the zappi EV charger family.

  • 7kW rated output with a 6A to 32A variable charging current
  • 230V AC -16/+10%, 50Hz single-phase supply
  • Mode 3 Type 2 socket with cable selected separately
  • 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, BLE v4.2, NFC/RFID and 868MHz radio
  • 6mA DC residual-current protection with EN 62955 RDC-DD tripping
  • 350mm x 170mm x 160mm enclosure, polycarbonate body
  • EN IEC 61851-1, IEC 62196-2 and EN IEC 63000 compliance listed

Will untethered GLO keep the wall clearer?

Yes. The untethered GLO uses a Type 2 socket, so the driver connects a separate Mode 3 cable only when charging. After the session, the cable can be stored in the vehicle, garage or a separate cable store rather than being wound on the front of the charger. That keeps the wall cleaner and makes the unit useful for households where parking position or vehicle changes over time.

The body is also more compact than the standard display-based zappi, measuring 350mm x 170mm x 160mm. It is designed for permanent indoor or outdoor mounting, with IP65 and IK10 ratings. The screen-free design puts more day-to-day control into the app and status lighting.

How is GLO used without a screen?

zappi GLO is managed through the myenergi app rather than a front display. The app handles settings and sessions, while the charger uses a multicolour LED to show status at the unit. Installer setup is supported through the Installer Assistant app, which helps keep the screen-free front simple for the user.

The charger supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, Bluetooth Low Energy v4.2, NFC/RFID and 868MHz radio. RFID access is useful where the charger is in a shared driveway, tenant bay or small workplace parking space. A supplied RFID card can be used as part of the access setup.

Can it work with solar and battery energy?

zappi GLO supports solar and battery integration through the monitored energy flows on the installation. The datasheet lists a 100A maximum primary-current grid current sensor and support for up to two external CTs, so the charger can be commissioned around grid import and other monitored circuits.

Charging can be scheduled for the user's chosen lower-cost time windows where their electricity tariff supports that pattern. Solar and battery behaviour still depends on generation, battery capacity, household load, CT positions and the chosen charger settings. No saving should be promised without looking at the property and usage pattern.

What drives the installation cost?

The charger is rated at 7kW and 32A on a single-phase supply, so the installer must design the circuit, protective device, isolation and cable route around that load. The datasheet lists support for up to two 35mm diameter cable entries, with supply cable sizes up to 6mm² flexible or up to 10mm² solid. Supply termination is by screw connection.

Cost can change with the consumer unit location, external cable route, wall construction, CT positioning, Wi-Fi coverage and any need to monitor generation or battery circuits. Buyers who want to understand the survey items before pricing can read the EV charger installation guide.

What cable and CTs should be ordered?

Because this version is untethered, a separate Type 2 charging cable is normally required for Type 2 vehicles. Cable length should be measured from the proposed charger position to the vehicle inlet with the car parked normally. The Type 2 to Type 2 EV charging cable is a relevant accessory for many untethered Type 2 installations.

The required CT arrangement depends on what the installation needs to monitor. The grid sensor covers the main import measurement, while up to two external CTs can support additional monitoring where required. Correct CT direction, placement and commissioning are essential for load balancing and energy-aware operation.

Should I choose GLO or standard zappi?

Choose zappi GLO if the buyer wants a screen-free, app-led charger with RFID access and a smaller wall profile. Choose the standard zappi if a front LCD and physical on-unit interface are important. Choose the tethered GLO where a fixed 6.5m Type 2 lead suits the parking bay, or this untethered GLO where cable length flexibility and a clearer wall are more important.

Is ZAPPI-3AS07UT-G the untethered GLO model?

Yes. This is the 7kW single-phase untethered zappi GLO with a Type 2 socket. The tethered GLO is the related model with a fixed 6.5m Type 2 lead.

Does untethered GLO have a front screen?

No. zappi GLO is designed for app-led operation without a front display. Status is shown by the charger lighting, while detailed control is handled through the myenergi app.

How many CTs can zappi GLO support?

The datasheet lists a 100A maximum grid current sensor and support for up to two external CTs. Correct CT positioning and commissioning are required for load balancing and energy monitoring.

What supply cable sizes are listed?

The datasheet lists supply cable size up to 6mm² flexible or up to 10mm² solid. The installer must still select the final cable size for the route, protective device and site conditions.

Can RFID access be used on this model?

Yes. zappi GLO includes NFC/RFID support through a 13.56MHz ISO/IEC 14443 card reader. It can be useful where access control is needed for a shared parking position.

"Ordered a Hypervolt charger, power cable and a fuse box. Waited a week to be told that both the cable and fuse box were out of stock. They upgraded the cable from 4mm to 6mm at no extra cost as the 6mm was in stock, however the cable supplied was Prysmian rather than the Doncaster Cables EV Ultra that was actually advertised on the website. The fuse box I found cheaper elsewhere so they cancelled and refunded that part of the order. Easy and helpful to deal with but could be better on the communication and keeping the stock situation up to date on the website."

"I ordered the Ohme Home Pro 5m Smart EV Charger from Evergy as they offered the best price online. From the initial order to the product arriving (within a few days) it was effortless. Thank you."
